A spreader is disclosed for a knitting machine with movable knockover bits provided with a stiff holding section (1, 1') for holding the spreader on the knitting machine and with an elongated vertical guiding section (5, 5') for carrying away the knitted goods. An elastic section (E) is arranged in the working area of the movable knockover bits between the stiff holding section (1, 1') and the elongated vertical guiding section (5, 5'). The elastic section (E) is horizontally deflected when pressed by a knockover bit, in particular laterally to the pressure direction. Damages to the knockover bits are thus excluded when the point of penetration of the bit is incorrectly positioned in the spreader, and the smallest possible distance between the knockover bits is not limited by the geometric design of the spreader. |
