A method of detecting the contents of earth in agricultural crops, such as beets, by measuring the natural gamma -radiation of the earth, the counting number of the measured gamma -radiation being compensated for differences in the types of earth. Merely by correcting for the contents of the earth of humus earth it is possible to simplify the measuring at the same time as the degree of inaccuracy is reduced. According to the invention, the gamma -spectrum is analyzed by means of a neural network. In this manner, much more of the data contained in the spectrum is utilized, and it turned out that the degree of inaccuracy can be at least halved in this manner. |
