The composite fiber is produced by dispersing a fiber formable polyethylene terephthalate (at 290 deg.C, 1000 poise melt viscosity) for 15-75% of the total cross section area at the core part, melt blending a polyethylene terephthalate (at 290 deg.C, 800 poise melt viscosity) as a sea component with a polyamide (2.65 relative viscosity) as an island component for 5-60; 40-95 wt.pts(parts) ratio at the sheath part, spinning them at 1000-1500m/min winding speed to form a fibril, drawing it at 80-95 deg.C. of the hot roller temp., 120-140 deg.C. of the hot plate temp. and 3.41-3.71 drawing magnification to make a drawn fiber, and weight reducing it with a sodium hydroxide. The composite fiber provides a ramie cloth-like feeling and luster.
