Determn. of a bio-available micro-pollutant in water involves contacting vegetable matter with the water and removing successive portions of the vegetable matter, followed by, for each portion, (a) measuring the total concn. of the micro-pollutant contained in the plant, (b) evaluating the concn. of the micro-pollutant on the surface of the plant, as a function of the total concn. determined for this portion and of the concns. previously measured and evaluated, and (c) evaluating the average concn. of the micro-pollutant in the water during the period since the removal of the previous portion, as a function of the adsorbed concns. of the micro-pollutant evaluated in this removal and in the preceding removal.
