Compensation for mould bulging in injection moulding machines

To compensate for bulging in the mould, during injection moulding, a variable temp. profile is developed in at least one of the two mould clamping plates, at least over the greater part of the surface at right angles to the mould closing direction. The temp. profile is varied constantly or intermittently over a number of injection moulding cycles, to create a defined bulge in the mould clamping plates from the edge to the centre of the surface and/or a temp. profile develops a defined bulge in the machine frame at right angles to the longitudinal machine axis between a fixed mould clamping plate and a counter mounting. Also claimed is a system with a number of heating and/or cooling units (19,20) at least at one mould closing plate (1,2) at the inner and/or outer surface in layers at right angles to the mould closing direction (6).
