Support bracket for wall cladding

The cladding panels are supported on the wall by a number of special brackets each with a shaft (1) to drive into bored holes and with a head formed by a plate (6) which clamps the cladding to the wall. The bracket is made from a flat metal stamping. The shaft is formed by rolling, leaving a slit (3) to provide a flexible grip inside the bored hole. The flat plate head has reinforcing grooves (7). The tip of the shaft is pointed to assist driving the bracket into the bored hole. Tags at the head end of the shaft locate through slits in the head plate to strengthen the fitting. No separate components are fitted to the bracket.
