The compound textile material has one component of: (a) a material of synthetic polymer fibres, and (b) at least one material of inorganic fibres, bonded together by yarns. Also claimed is a mfg. process where the two layers are brought together to be bonded together by stitching, knitting or warp knitting using yarns with a strength of at least 50 cN/tex and pref. more than 60 cN/tex.
