Ultrasonic spectacles

The field of view in front of the wearer of the spectacles (10) is scanned, e.g. by ultrasonic sensors (USS), to initiate a signal from which the distance to an obstruction can be determined. The sensor signals can be converted into other signals which are meaningful to the wearer of the spectacles. The spectacles can also be fitted with other sensors to track other characteristics, e.g. heat, which can be suitably communicated to the wearer. The electronics and the control elements (BE) can be mounted separately or integrated into the spectacles. The range of the sensors can be adjusted, e.g. in steps.
