The invention relates to a chill casting distinguished by high corrosion resistance in aggressive media and a similar wear resistance to that of standard commercial types of chill castings. The composition in wt % of the chill casting of the invention is: Cr = 26 to 36; Ni </= 10; Mo = 2 to 6; Cu </= 3; N </= 0.2; Si </= 1.5; Mn </= 1.5; V = 4 to 9; C = 1.4 to 1.9; with the remainder being Fe and inevitable casting impurities.
