Elongated supporting structure e.g. for scenic lighting installation

The structural elements (10,11,39) are formed of elongated sections of sheet metal, each bent at a right angle along the centre line of a row of uniformly spaced rectangular holes (16) between profiled bars (17). The bars of each element are fitted into the holes of another element, and the structure is held together by tensioning screws (32) and yokes (31) straddling the spaces (26) between elements. Each yoke has two cheeks (37,38) in contact with the edges of neighbouring bars of the same element.
