Flat structural elements and a packing composed of such structural elements

Packaging used around a product is formed from a structure (4) of linked flat elements each of which is separated from the adjacent structure (4) by an opening (5) of predefined dimensions. The novelty is that each opening (5) is limited by edges formed by bent or angled strips of strips of thin material (6) and by numerous thin strips of material (6) the ends (33) of which abut or overlap with each other. The openings are of a chessboard pattern.
