Combination audio system suitable for motor vehicle installation

The system has a radio receiver (2), a cassette or CD player (6) and a third audio device (8), e.g. a CB radio receiver. The output from each can be fed to a low frequency amplifier (12). Connection of the three devices to the amplifier is controlled by switches (38, 40, 42), using signals derived from the devices, e.g. RDS encoded radio data for traffic broadcasts. Only one device can be connected to the amplifier at any time. The devices are prioritised so that, when more than one is active, only the device with highest priority is heard.
