Mechanical stress relief device for set of cables

A device to reduce the mechanical stress on cables (12,14,16,18,20) has two sets of teeth arranged on a comb (10) and connecting straps (32,34,36) which attach the cables to them. The connections are detachable. The sides of the teeth facing the cables are concave. The length of the teeth is greater than the width of the connecting straps. The straps may be wires, ropes, chains or other types of clamp. The comb is essentially rectangular in plan view and has at least one hole for mounting bolts. It is cast from impact-resistant material. The teeth are on each side of the comb and one set is wider than the other.
