Masonry fastener with spreading tip

The fastener has a shaft with a shaped driving tip (5) and with a head (3) which is struck to drive the fastener into the wall. Curved slots in the head locate the slit sleeve (2) with the sleeve having one slit (9) at the spreading end and one slit (6) diametrically opposite the first slit. The spreading head has a polygonal profiled blade (5). To sleeve is slid onto the fastener by a simple tilt and slide action through the curved slots in the head, with the slit (6) in the striking end of the sleeve extending to under the head.
