Electron conductive particles contg. reactive heavy metal

Process for the use, regeneration and/or prodn. of electron-conductive reactive heavy metal-contg. particles in which the heavy metal from the particles, converted into solid, dissolved or soluble heavy metal cpds. by treatment with water and/or gas, is deposited on the particles to be regenerated and/or that are to be freshly made, using an electrolytic metallisation procedure with the particles connected as cathode. Pref. the reactive heavy metal is Zn. The particles contg. the reactive heavy metal or that are to be metallised are pref. in the form of a fluidised or solid bed. The substrate particles are e.g. of coke, active carbon, carbon fibres and textiles made from these, carbon foams, stainless steel mesh, noble metal mesh, etc.. During the metallisation of the particles the particles are connected as the cathode and the anode is e.g. of graphite or metal.
