<p>This invention is an autoclavable endoscope (10) having a housing (16), an eyepiece (12), an insertion tube (18), a light pipe (52), a proximal window (30), a distal window (70), and seals (32, 68) that seal against the passage of contaminants into the endoscope during autoclaving. The housing (16), eyepiece (12), insertion tube (18), windows (30, 70), and light pipe (52) are comprised of materials which withstand a temperature of at least about 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.</p> |
