Forklift truck with motor to drive truck and hand=operated control lever

The forklift truck (1) has a running drive motor and a hand-operated control lever (8). The lever can be moved from a bottom setting (T) to a top setting (H), passing through three intermediate settings (Z1,Z2,Z3), as settings for the drive and the braking device. The turning range of the lever is divided into a lower braking zone (alpha), middle running zone (beta) and special running zone (delta). In the `beta' zone, a min. safety clearance (X) is maintained between the operator and the forklift truck or its casing. The truck can be moved normally up to a max. speed, forwards or backwards. In the special running zone, the safety clearance is reduced (to Y).
