The cable entry (13) is fitted in an opening (27) in the telephone handpiece (1), with cooperating locking elements (24, 25) used to secure the cable entry in th opening. The latter pref. extends over approx. half the width of the microphone shell (4) at one end of the telephone handpiece, with locking elements projecting from the inside wall of the microphone shell. Pref. the telephone cable (15) is enclosed by a cuff (14) of the semi-cylindrical body of the cable entry, which has 2 integral elastic projections, snap-fitted into locking engagement with the locking elements of the microphone shell.
