A vaporizing device including a heating unit (10) having a pair of electrical connector terminals (16) stacked to a substrate (12) having a serpentine resistance type heating element (14a, 14b) printed thereon and electrically connected to the terminals. An insulating conformal (18) layer coats the heating element, wicking into the interstices of the region between each electrical terminal (16) and the openings (12a) in the substrate receiving the terminals. Heating units are mass-produced by forming a large number of heating units on a large substrate. The large substrate is then scored to facilitate breaking of the substrate into individual heating units. Each heating unit is molded or otherwise joined to an enclosure (50) adapted to receive a block of vaporizable matter (40) which, when heated, provides a pleasing aroma or alternatively, provides a vaporized repellant or insecticides. The mass production technique provides an inexpensive and sturdy vaporizing device which may be discarded after each use. |
