<p>A closure assembly (30) for piercing a diaphragm (24) over a discharge opening (22) in a container (10) comprising a cap of cup-like form (32) having internal thread means (43) and a generally tubular spout member (34) mounted on the container (10) surrounding the diaphragm (24) and a piercing fitment (36) disposed interiorly of the spout member (34) having a series of depending teeth (39) arranged in a circular array and cooperating interengaging means between the spout member (34) and piercing fitment (36) and cap (32) whereby rotational movement of the cap (32) in one direction effects downward displacement of the piercing fitment (36) to pierce the diaphragm (24).</p> |
