Solid electrolyte capacitor with a capacitor element (11) comprises: (a) a porous sintered chip (12) made of metal particles; (b) a solid electrolyte substance (16) electrically insulated from the metal particles by a dielectric substance (15); (c) an anode connecting layer (19) electrically connected to the metal particles; and (d) a cathode connecting layer (18) electrically connected to the solid electrolyte substance (16). The capacitor element (11) has a connecting section having a boundary with the anode connecting layer (19) and a barrier (13) through which intrusion of the solid electrolyte substance (16) into the connecting section is prevented. Prodn. of the capacitor is also claimed.
