Series-connecting room thermostat for electrical heating

The room thermostat contains an electronic circuit in which an adjustable demand value for temperature setting is compared with a value derived from a temperature sensor (3), and according to the difference value a control signal and a supply current is delivered from a current source (7) to a drive circuit (8) of a heater. The drive circuit (8) throttles or raises the heat output of the heater circuit, as it is connected in series with the thermostat unit. The unit may also utilise a two wire a.c. circuit with circuit connections (TA, N).
