This invention relates to a device which enables independent receiving and storing of electronic mail and telefax messages in an electronic unit ("mail box"). According to the invention the device is characterized by the combination of the following features: the electronic unit (1) comprises a separate electronic module in pocket size, which can be connected directly to the public telephone net for being able to receive and store electronic mail and telefax messages; the electronic unit (1) has built-in functions for transmitting electronic mail and telefax messages; the electronic unit (1) is so arranged that, at all hours, it shall be able to be called up and emptied of received telefax messages and electronic mail from a direct or distance computer via a serial connection or modem connection. |
