External mirror for vehicle

The mirror is esp. for the cab of a lorry or bus, and is attached to a fixed portion of the bodywork. It hinges from the working position, which is in the path of the opening door. The hinge axis (4) for the mirror mounting arm is vertical, and the crank mechanism (10) has fixed spindles formed by this axis and the door-hinge spindle (11). The distance between the movable pivot spindles (13,15) of the mechanism is equal to that between the fixed spindles. The mounting arm can be an angular one extending downwards, and it can be forked at its hinge spindle, fitting round a bearing housing through which the spindle passes.
