The tennis trainer (1) has a hitting surface (2), which is flexibly connected to the grip (3). The grip can only be pivoted in a plane (4), which is at right angles to the hitting surface, and contains the longitudinal centre axis (5) of the trainer. Hitting surface and grip are connected via an elastic shaft (7). The head (6) and grip are connected via a joint (9). The two parts of the joint are pivoted relative to each other about a pin (10), which is at right angles to pivot plane and centre axis. The threshold value to initiate the relative movement between head and grip, is adjustable.
