<p>An apparatus for preparing or heating food or beverages, comprising a water kettle having a container for receiving water, and electric heating means for heating the water filled into said container, a pot which is insertable into said kettle through a lid thereof, for receiving food or beverage material and having a closed surface at least in the area dipping into the water of said kettle, and a handle mounted on said pot, wherein either said ring-shaped lid (1) of said kettle (3) has support means (1') situated in a distance below an upper surface (1') of said ring-shaped lid so as to be arranged within said kettle, and said pot (23) has peripherally arranged engaging means (35) engaging said support means when said pot is inserted into said kettle, or said pot (23) or said container (5) of said water kettle (3) has support element (26', 26') for forming a stand for said pot (23) when inserted into the container (5) of said water kettle (3), and wherein said handle (50) of said pot (23) has at least one portion (52, 52') which at least partly extends from said pot (23) in an upward direction beyond an upper edge (51) of said pot.</p> |
