The overhanging section, designed to support trailing plants growing in a trough (1), consists of a panel made from welded wire mesh, attached to the upper edge of the trough and shaped to form a curved (3) and a vertical (4) surface on the outside of the trough. The mesh panel can be attached to the trough edge by semi-rigid extensions on the wire ends, bent into an inverted U-shape, or for forks welded onto the wires. The panel can be made with a mesh size which increases towards the lower end of its vertical section, providing greater support for the plants at the top of the overhang. The mesh can be made from galvanised, painted or plastic-coated steel, or from a moulded plastic or resin material.
