<p>The combined generator and motor has an input shaft (2), coupled to an i.c. engine, carrying a hollow cylindrical generator rotor (6) and an output shaft (3) carrying a hollow cylindrical motor rotor (7). Both rotors have permanent magnets (8,9) of alternating polarity around their inner periphery and cooperate with a stator (10) with at least one switched short-circuit winding (11). The short-circuit winding is displaced axially relative to the permanent magnets of both rotors, with magnetic field sensors between the magnets, detecting the magnetic polarity for opening and closing the short-circuit line.</p> |
