The decontamination unit consists of automatic devices (15-20) for receiving, controlling the flow of, opening, washing, rinsing and drying the containers (4) one by one. The containers are eventually crushed at a low temp. when the material is fragile, the debris being deposited in bins (7) and liquid waste in collectors (26,27).
