<p>A filter cartridge for fluids and gases, and esp. for the air fed to an internal combustion engine, has the maximal filtration surface relatively to the space occupied, and esp. to its height. The pack is assembled in a ring-shaped container of sheet metal, having a height less than its radius, and comprises a strip of paper or other suitable material with upper and lower fold lines extending radially at right angles to the axis of the filter. A large number of compartments close together are thus formed and the two ends of the strip are clipped together and sealed by a metal profile.</p> |
