摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a material to b recorded for ink jet recording forming a high-grade image excellent in ink absorbability and having high gloss, high transparency and excellent water resistance. CONSTITUTION:A material to be recorded for ink jet recording is obtained by providing an ink absorbing layer containing a water-soluble polymer having a quaternary ammonium base on a support and applying a coating soln. containing fine silica particles and 10-150% by wt. of the fine silica particles of a polymer soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol to the upper surface of the ink absorbing layer in such a coating ratio that the polymer is present within a range not exceeding 0.3g/m<2> and the fine silica particles are present within a range of 5-50% of the total surface area of the ink absorbing layer.
