OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTION CHANGING DEVICE AND ITS USE METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide an optical fiber connection changing device of a small size having high reliability by a high-density device constitution and an optical fiber connection changing method using this device. CONSTITUTION:This connection changing devices is provided in combination with optical fibers 31 with plugs, optical fibers 33 with adapters, an aligning means 35 having aligning holes 36 and a mounting means 37 of respective adapters 34. The device has stoppers 40 for positioning the optical fibers 31 with the plugs by oppositely disposing a first handling means 38 which withdraws the plugs 32 from the aligning holes 36, inserts the plugs into the adapters 34 or removes the plugs from the adapters 34 and a second handling means 39 which lets out the optical fibers 31 with the plugs to the aligning holes 36 or takes up the fibers and a fixing means 41 for the optical fibers 31 with the plugs. The number of the plugs 32 is smaller by one than the number of the adapters 34. Further, at least one among the normal adapters are replaced with the dummy adapters.
