<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a wrinkle resistant cellulosic fiber product not releasing formalin by forming a cross-linked film composed of a specific polycarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol on the surface of a cellulosic fiber. CONSTITUTION:Esterification reaction of a polycarboxylic acid, preferably 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid with a <=4C straight-chain polyhydric alcohol (preferable example: ethylene glycol or propylene glycol) is carried out in the presence of an esterification catalyst of a hypophosphorous acid salt on the fiber surface of a cellulosic fiber product, and a cross-linked film of the resin liquid is formed by subjecting the reactional product to heat treatment at about 150 deg.C to provide the objective cellulosic fiber product capable of exhibiting excellent wrinkle resistance without lowering tensile strength and tear strength. This fiber product is free from release of formalin.</p> |
