PURPOSE:To efficiently extract only recorded data from image data influenced by an uneven surface of a recording medium, by using a prediction parameter and predicting a reproduced image before recorded from a reproduced image after recorded. CONSTITUTION:The data-reproducing apparatus reproduces data of a recording medium 111 as a reproduced image by utilizing a tunnel current generated between a probe electrode 118 and the recording medium 111 when the probe electrode 118 scans a recording surface of the recording medium 111 relatively in two dimensions. The data-reproducing apparatus has a predictor 202 and an image-processing device incorporating the predictor 202 thereinside. The predictor 202 obtains with the use of a preset prediction parameter a predicted pixel value of each pixel of the reproduced image from pixel values of pixels adjacent to the pixel of the reproduced image regulated as a Markov random field. A predicted image is formed of predicted pixels of the predicted values. Tone image-processing device 123 outputs recorded data with the use of the pixel values of the reproduced image and predicted pixel values of the predicted image by the predictor 202.
