PURPOSE:To recognize the position of an IC which is provided with a bumper part. CONSTITUTION:An IC 1 is provided with lead parts 4 in four side parts and with bumper parts 3 in four corners. The IC is imaged by a CCD camera 7 from the rear surface side. A visual recognition controller 9 to which image data has been input rectlinearly scans the lead parts 4 and the bumper parts 3 on both ends so as to traverse them, it finds binary-coded data, and it detects the scanning width of data on a part in which an object exists. Since the scanning width of the bumper parts 3 is different from the scanning width between lead wires of the lead parts 4, the bumper parts 3 can be specified when pieces of size data on the IC 1 are compared. On the basis of image data on the lead parts 4, the central position and the inclination angle of the IC 1 are operated and found, and the position of the IC is corrected in its mounting operation onto a printed-circuit board 6. |
