<p>PURPOSE:To provide a pipe-length measuring method wherein the length of a gas pipe from the end part of its branch pipe up to a main pipe whose diameter is larger than that of the branch pipe is measured by a simple operation and at low costs and to provide a wire-passing utensil, for pipe-length measurement, which is used for the method and whose constitution is simple. CONSTITUTION:A pig 2 which can freely seale the inner surface of a branch pipe by close contacting to it is attached to the tip of a wire body L which can be pushed freely into a gas pipe. While a gas pressure at the opening end of the branch pipe P is being measured, the pig 2 is moved along the inside of the branch pipe as the wire body L is inserted into the branch pipe P. At a time when the gas pressure has risen as the pig 2 is going on into the branch pipe P, it is judged that the pig has reached the inside of a main pipe P1. The insertion length of the wirelike body L at this time is measured, and the length up to th main pipe from the opening end part P2 is judged. A graduation 7 for measurement of a feed amount into the pipe is formed on the wirelike body L.</p> |
