PURPOSE: To obtain an image signal processing system which minimizes occurrences of aliasing owing to rotation and (or) compression. CONSTITUTION: This processor generates an address for a series of words of digital input signals which express an input image to be processed by an address generator 14. The processor monitors an address for a series of three word sets by a local reduction ratio calculation means 42 and calculates a local reduction ratio which expresses the condensation of a local area of an image processed from each set. It changes bandwidth of a digital filter 40 in response to a series of local reduction rations through a bandwidth control means 44. The calculation means 42 calculates a local reduction ratio so that it may correspond to the length of a line (1h, 1v) which vertically extends from the line that goes through a position of two words to a position of other one word.
