PURPOSE:To enable bleaching having high whiteness without using chlorine-based chemicals by pretreating wood pulp with brown rot and then, treating the treated pulp with oxygen/an alkali. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of brawn rot selected from a group of Gloeophyllum trabeum, OOUZURATAKE, Oxyporus populinus, Gloeophyllum saepiarium, Serpula lacrymans, Laetiporus sulphureus var. miniatus, Phaeolus schweinitzii, Coniophora puteana and Daedalea dickinsii is cultured and the fungal cell is ground together with a cultured mixture to prepare a fungal cell suspension. The fugal cell suspension is added to kraft pulp and the mixture is treated with a microorganism for a prescribed time to increase an amount of free phenolic hydroxyl group in lignin remaining in pulp and then, the pulp is treated with oxygen and an alkali to provide bleached pulp having high whiteness. |
