PURPOSE:To automatically and simply produce a cushioning medium for packing by a continuous operation of packaging a predetermined quantity of cut chips obtained by cutting a cushioning material with a packaging film, simply deform the cushioning medium for packing itself so that it can be fitted to the form of a body to be packed, such as a machine component and a bottle, facilitate a packing operation, and use a waste material, such as unnecessary paper, as the cushioning material. CONSTITUTION:A material cutting mechanism 11 is provided for cutting a cushioning material A to a predetermined size and discharging it. A film support 5 for supporting a packaging film is provided with a falling hole 6 for allowing cut chips (a) discharged from the material cutting mechanism 11 to fall and disposed downward of the material cutting mechanism 11. A film supply mechanism 90 is provided for supplying the packaging film onto the film support 5. A containing body 50 is provided for containing the cut chips (a) discharged from the material cutting mechanism 11 by a predetermined amount through the packaging film. A packaging mechanism 62 is provided for wrapping the predetermined amount of the cut chips (a) by gathering the peripheral parts of the film placed on the containing body 50, and packaging them in a sealed state. |
