<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain dicyclohexyl ether useful as a nonaromatic solvent, etc., in high yield by catalytically reducing diphenyl ether in the presence of a specific catalyst. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing dicyclohexyl ether is to catalytically reduce diphenyl ether in the presence of a catalyst prepared by supporting one or two or more metals selected from Pd, Ni, Rh, Ru and Pt in an amount of preferably 0.1-8wt.% (based on the whole supported catalyst) on a carrier such as carbon, silica or alumina at 120-180 deg.C reactional temperature under 10-80kg/cm<2> pressure of hydrogen gas.</p> |
