PURPOSE:To obtain the document editing device which reads a document whose file name is forgotten out of a document storage means and enables its editing process without being made complex and generating the trouble to distinctively use the device even if the file name is forgotten. CONSTITUTION:This document editing device is equipped with a read part which reads a bar code attached to a document original, an indicating operation detection part which detects indicating operation for indicating editing contents, a document retrieval part 102 which retrieves the document in a correspondence table storage part 101 by using the bar code, and a document editing part 106 which extracts the retrieved document from the storage medium at the document storage part 103 and performs the editing process according to the editing instruction detected by the input part 100. Further, this device is equipped with a mode specification means which specifies a discrimination mode or editing mode and a switching part 105 which makes the input part 100 read the bar code in the discrimination mode and detect the indicating operation in the editing mode. |
