A coreless induction furnace for melting and heat treating of metals can be supplied with mains frequency and voltage or with a higher frequency and higher voltage. The three-phase mains transformer has several tappings and/or groups of coils which can be connected in series or parallel. The induction coil also consists of two parts which can be coupled in series or parallel. This furnace requires less space and is less expensive than conventional dual control induction furnaces.
