A clamp structure with one or several plastically deformable ears (12) has its holding ability increased by an external strengthening member (20) surrounding the or each ear (12) in its non-deformed condition. The lateral portions (22) of the strengthening member (20) are thereby so constructed and shaped that an application of a force to the lateral members (22) will cause the ear (12) to be plastically deformed.
