Convertible box or container has two wide side walls (12, 13), two narrow side walls (10, 11) and two end walls, (14, A), with the first end wall (A) forming a foldable lid whose rear end edge is joined to the neighbouring end edge of the first wide side wall (12), enabling it to be opened and closed. The second wide side wall (13) is divided into two half sections (B, C) of the same size whose rear edges can be folded into a closed position in which they form the side wall (13) and an open position in which they are folded between the narrow side wall (10, 11). When the first end wall (A) is open and the side sections (B, C) are closed the box can rest on the second end wall (14) to form a free standing container for dirty laundry. Alternatively, when the first end wall (A) is closed and the side sections (B, C) folded in, it forms a horizontal box suitable for carrying clean laundry. |
