The method is designed to separate the gas escape phase into two distinct time periods. During the first period at the moment of opening of the escape orifices(10) the gas residual energy is collected by a compressor(14,15). During the second time period after the opening of the admission orifices(7) a separator(23) reverses the flow of the burnt gas remaining in an enclosure(24) maintained a pressure Pe > Po, Po being the local atmospheric pressure. The sweep is made under the influence of the pressure gradient P which exists between the admission pressure Pa and the counter escape pressure Pe, Pa = Pe + P( in the no overfed version: P'a =Po + P' ). The overfeed coefficient Pe/Po > 1 enables very high compression powers to be achieved.
