The visor (1) is retracted into the helmet (2) or lowered by two pairs of rods (3) and springs (9). The rods pivot on axles (5,7) to form deformable parallelograms. The lower rods (4) have an oblong hole in which their axle on the helmet slides, to adjust the length between the axles. The traction springs, fixed to the axle of the lower rod and to the rod, pull the axles on the visor towards the axles on the helmet. When the visor has been lowered its lower edge (1a) is pulled into contact with the face by the rods.
