The friction coupling (1) has an axially tensioned plate spring (4) between its housing (2) and a pressure plate (3). The spring has a ring-shaped base body (4a) from which actuation tongues (4b) extend radially inwards. A limiting device is provided for the wear compensation mechanism (13) and is in the form of a wear sensor (14). A sleeve (16) acting as the sensor structural part is axially displaceable and coupled to the pressure plate by a self-adjusting coupling.
