Unfoldable carrying mast for raising loads

The mast comprises three strips (10) of composite material able to be wound on drums in order to fold the mast or unwound it for its deployment. The mast section when deployed forms a polygon, such as a triangle. In this deployed position the strips are joined together by rapid fixings provided on their longitudinal edges. Members for rolling up and unrolling the strips are provided in the base (20). The rapid fixings can be bands of Velcro or magnetic. The strips have a central part (14) and sloping longitudinal edges (12). The edges make an angle with the central part such that they are applied against each other when deployed. The central part of the strips is plane or curved with the concavity towards the mast interior.
