A method of controlling homopteran insects comprises treating them (or their environment) with a compsn. (A) contg. the triazinone deriv. of formula (I), in free or salt form, opt. together with auxiliaries. The insects are of the families Aleyrodidae, Cicadellidae, and Delphacidae; and Aphididae of the genera Acyrthosiphon, Brachycaudus, Brevicoryne, Dysaphis, Hyalopterus, Macrosiphum, Phorodon, Rhopalosiphum, Sappaphis, Schizaphis and Toxoptera; and the species Aphis gossypii and A. pomi. Also claimed is a process for protecting the material (M) for propagating plants, and for protecting the plant parts that develop later, using a compsn. (A) applied close to the site or applied to the site at the time of planting or production.
