The vehicle suspension unit consists of a suspension arm (2), which is linked to the vehicle's chassis, and an elastic blade (10), which bears onto the suspension arm in such a way as to balance the load developed on the arm, due to the reaction forces, applied to the wheel (1) by the ground. A cam (16) is fixed relative to the chassis and fitted so that the blade is pressed against the cam by the suspension arm. The position of application of this pressure varies between the two extremities (10' and 10") of the blade, such that the point of application varies according to the forces being transmitted to the free end of the arm and blade, through the axle (9).
